Polarization and Propagation

This event has expired

Through the aperture of M. Nisa Khan’s lighting research and Alan Rayner’s philosophy of Natural Inclusion, we’ll consider how energy moves around and between localities, and how directionality and receptivity co-create the patterns we see in everything from embryonic development to ecosystem dynamics.

This event will also explore the metaphorical implications: What happens when our views become polarized? How do emotions, ideologies, and identities propagate through societies constructively and destructively? And can biology itself offer a model for restoring coherence in polarized environments?

Join us to investigate polarization and propagation – at once scientific, biological, and cultural – that shape how we relate, evolve, and understand the world.
